And to me, I was thinking a lot today about Virginia Dufresne, one of, you know, the most outspoken victims of Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, and all of these other people.
They called her a liar for so many years.
They made her life hell.
for so many years.
And I think that the dam is finally breaking on this and it's time here in the United States for us to hold individuals who had any involvement with Epstein enabled his crimes in any way accountable once and for all.
Yeah.
I think it's a big moment.
I think having spent quality time with the victims, every time there's progress, every time somebody is held accountable in small ways, in big ways, it's meaningful.
It means that people are listening.
It means that the public is demanding this.
I think that none of these rich and powerful elites
want to go down easy or are going down easy.
And so it really means that public pressure is going a long way to the point where there's no other choice but for them to see the consequences.
Otherwise, you know, there will be just mass public outrage everywhere.
And I know that to be true in the UK, because I can tell you that anytime there's Epstein related news, my personal cell phone is ringing off the hook from the BBC.
And
outlets in the United Kingdom.
They are eager to talk about this.
It's a very important topic of conversation and there's a real reckoning happening in the United Kingdom about child sex trafficking, about abuse, about the way that elite individuals are able to shield themselves from accountability.
I hope that today means a lot to the victims, and I hope that it motivates them and shows that their efforts are succeeding, their efforts are working, and that we in Congress will continue to also fight tirelessly for them.
