I remember we got in jail one night.
The day we won the verdicts at Howard Beach, we were in jail.
for stopping the subways in New York.
And Ben Chavis was there explaining to our progressives in the white community, this is what we need to do.
They would say, oh, it's too disruptive.
He said, no, this is what King would do.
I always will be indebted to one of the legends of the movement that was there for the last 50 years, who now has the NNPA, Dr. Benjamin Chavis.
We will coordinate, we'll be moderated by a young lady that I take personal pride in.
28 years ago, she joined our staff.
She came from the Terry Williams Agency, and I've watched her grow.
I watched her become a real mogul and respected in the industry on her own rights.
She is not under anyone's shadow.
She's standing in her own sunlight.
And she's earned it, and she does it better, but she's still grounded.
She's not sold out.
Some of y'all get one job, and we don't see you no more.
Some of y'all get a key to the executive suite and lock the door behind you.
But she has kept her balance and has made us proud and works with the same drive and ethics she always did.
And I'm so proud of our own Rachel Nordlund.
