In honor of the launch of the Stealth Sash, let's have a quick look at the Richmond Guernsey history before the Sash.
And hilariously, in our first two seasons of the club, we had a blue Guernsey with a yellow and black sash.
That changed in 1887 to yellow and black vertical stripes, which then changed to horizontal stripes in the 1890s.
And that was when
some of the press unofficially dubbed us the wasps.
We went back to vertical stripes in 1907, seems like we couldn't make up our mind.
Before in 1910, to improve the appearance of the team, the club wrote in its minute book, we went to an all-black Guernsey with one yellow horizontal band across the middle.
It was in 1914 that we brought back the sash.
a single yellow sash that ran across the right shoulder, not the left, for the first couple of years.
The Punch newspaper said it was a decided improvement to our previous Guernsey with the band.
The leader newspaper loved it.
They called it a neat design and that's in Tigerland.
Howdy, folks. Congrats to Scott Pendlebury on his achievement for the most league games. But did you know that four Richmond players have held the record previously? Obviously, KB in 1983, he held it for 10 years. And before him, Jack Dyer's 312 games was the most, a record which lasted, surprisingly, for just one year. In the 1920s, Vic Thorpe's 262 games put him one ahead of Jock McHale.

And Thorpe held that record for 11 years. And if we go right back to the start, Collinwood's Charlie Panham was the first league player to 100 games and finished on 193. The last 14 of those were at Tigerland. By the way, Vic Thorpe played just one more VFL game after he broke the record. And in the Richmond Room, in his farewell match,

stood 89-year-old Henry Harrison, who was recognised as the father of football and who captained a side called Richmond in 1860. And that's Hidden Tiger Land. That's great. Well, that's Harrison House. Remember the old Harrison House? And, of course, Charlie Panham, of course, is Ed Richards' great-grandfather.
