What did the hosts say about Richmond’s recent performance at Hobart?

Richard 'Richo' Richardson 0:34
G'day, Tiger fans, Rick Cho here, and welcome to Talking Tigers. We come off a reasonable performance, I would say, down at uh Ninja Stadium, I think they call it these days, down in Hobart. It's still Bell Reef, Oval for mine. Uh we'll get into that game, and we've got plenty to talk about today. The World Cup's on, and that was Ricky Martin Cup of Life. I had to play that tone for the World Cup. How good were the Socceros, by the way? Oh, yeah. We we should have been over there. We were over there a few years ago in Brazil and it was great.
Matthew Richardson 1:03
Don't know if I really want to go over to North America there at a moment. Wow, would have been just Jesus, big uh big Australian contingent in the crowd too. Vancouver. Mm. Ta Tate Spatiary, who's a member of he's of the media team, is over there as well. There you go.
Richard 'Richo' Richardson 1:16
Yep. Uh Brace is back in the chair today. Good to see you, mate. Ma Manfred, you're uh looking sharp today. What are you going into the office?
Matthew Richardson 1:22
Yeah, into the office, yeah, yeah.
Richard 'Richo' Richardson 1:23
What's that rod and gum you got on? Yes, Rod and Gum. Yeah. Gun and more.
Matthew Richardson 1:26
Yep, got the peacoat as well, Matthew. Yeah, I know you've got to be able to do that.

How did the panel break down Jasper Alger’s Rising Star nomination and his four‑goal game?

Richard 'Richo' Richardson 1:36
Uh Tone, I thought at times on um Sunday it was some of the better footy we've played this year.
Tony Greenberg 1:41
Yeah, definitely. Definitely. The uh tr our transition was really good. Forward handball, the pressure that we applied, really intense pressure. Um I reckon we should have been probably three, four goals up at halftime. Just butchered a few chances, didn't we? Yeah, we did. Yeah. And in the end it was just th their class that uh it was probably what, only fifteen minutes in the third quarter. We actually kicked the first goal of the third quarter and got it for out of centre bounce, wasn't it?
Richard 'Richo' Richardson 2:02
They just got a severe blocking nil, got some clean clearance.
Tony Greenberg 2:05
Yeah, he did. But um no, overall, um you know, a lot a lot of positives out of it and um yeah, we perform if we can perform like that for the second half of the year we'll uh we'll we'll certainly get uh a few few more wins, I reckon.
Richard 'Richo' Richardson 2:17
Absolutely.
Matthew Richardson 2:17
Absolutely yeah, and I thought um the way we set the ground up, especially from a defensive point of view. Pressure was great. Yeah, and pressure and holding the ball in our forward half was um was outstanding and I reckon yeah, you can see obviously what we're trying to do in regards to our front half game, but as you said Tone, like some of our ball movement from the back half and the numbers suggest this, that we were I think we were AFL number two for taking the ball from in from a D fifty into an inside fifty.
Richard 'Richo' Richardson 2:41
That's definitely our best ball movement of the year, I thought.
Matthew Richardson 2:44
And just but but just um the other layer to that is the Polish and execution inside fifty where we were down the bottom end of the in the bottom four for executing a sport.
Richard 'Richo' Richardson 2:52
Well and they just couldn't miss. Like Ash what about Ashcroft's goal.
Tony Greenberg 2:55
They were kicking kicking them out of their back seat.
Richard 'Richo' Richardson 2:57
Logan Morris just turned around for five steps. So at the end of the day it was just a bit of execution. Uh I thought I thought um our inside fi I think we had nineteen Ford fifty tackles as well. Morris I think led the way there. Which is a really good sign. Oh he wasn't doing, you know, yeah.
Matthew Richardson 3:12
Oh he was uh doing yeah coming back obviously from injury and just picked up where he left off from a defensive point of view and just hopefully in the next couple of weeks that that that offensive um polish that he did have actually before he went out injured comes back and he maybe hit the scoreboard as well. Tim Taranto Tone, what a first half he had.
Tony Greenberg 3:30
It was a outstanding. Like uh he's had twenty disposals and two goals in the first half. So a little bit quieter in the second half, but still such a val he's just such a valuable player. He is on track for a third uh it'll be out of him or Jack Ross probably, but uh yeah, he's right right in the mix for a third.
Richard 'Richo' Richardson 3:45
He is I won't preempt our votes yet, but he is miles in front in our votes.
