G'day Tiger Vans, Rich O here, and welcome to Talking Tigers for another week. And of course, we are brought to you every week by Urban Caravans, the best are Tig welded vans around. We thank them for their support. And uh, we've got a special guest in the studio today. Luke Bruce, our development coach, is coming up to join us. Tone's got a top five. The wheel, and I think Manfred, you're going back to Two thousand and twelve on MCG Memories. Good to see you lads, and I'll tell you what, that is a song. That is the new Queens of the Stone Age uh single, Easy Street. That is the Well it came out uh last week and It certainly was an easy street at the G on uh Sunday afternoon. It was uh it wasn't a great performance.
Richard 'Richo' Richardson 1:20
We can't uh sugarcoat that one. Get involved with the show, hashtag talking tigers or talking tigers at Richmond F C dot com. Dot AU but I'll tell you one thing, you've got to do after after games like that, you've got to stick together, Tone. And that's what we're gonna do. How are you, mate? Yeah, yeah. Well I'm not a hundred percent. I'm putting it.
Tony Greenberg 1:41
Yeah yeah not quite right. Yeah. It's no good.
Matthew Richardson 1:43
Should I do I need uh move a bit of further away from it?
Tony Greenberg 1:46
Do you want a fisherman's friend? No, no, it's okay.
Richard 'Richo' Richardson 1:49
It's okay. Surely you like that song just quickly.
Tony Greenberg 1:52
Oh yeah, it was okay. I did. That's good. How good is it? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, Fraser likes it too. It's really not my cup of tea, but anyway, that's okay. How are you? Uh well apart from that, I I'd I think probably the performance probably hasn't helped my my health. It was uh the first half was it was a bit of a horror show, let's be honest.
Richard 'Richo' Richardson 2:09
No, just the lack of pressure. Pressure. Yeah, we've certainly got to find yeah and you can find a way because Esceden's pressure hasn't been good all year and it was unbelievable Sunday night. Yeah, but you can't
Tony Greenberg 2:20
But you can you can find an effort there. But right from the start against Holford, they just waltzed the ball away and they just did what they like for the first half. Look, the second half was uh was it was you know a fair bit better.
Richard 'Richo' Richardson 2:33
I'll be honest, I was I was worried it was going to be a hundred and twenty points at half time. So and it you we're not trying to make it sound better than it is, but it was a good effort to arrest a bit of momentum in that. Momentum in that.
Tony Greenberg 2:44
And we did miss a lot of shots again. You know, missed a lot of shots, particularly in the second half. So um you've got to kick your goals early too.
Richard 'Richo' Richardson 2:50
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean they weren't missing down one end and we had some pretty easy shots that we butchered down out
Matthew Richardson 2:56
And then just not even just shots, just plays where, you know, Stilly Green and Tom Lynch supporting each other and other that that that's a walking goal every day of the week. And as you said, Matthew, especially against a side like Hawthorne, with uh the character they've got at the end of that as well, that they obviously sensed that they want a top two shouldp two.
Richard 'Richo' Richardson 3:12
So they were really open now with Sydney dropping off again.
Matthew Richardson 3:15
Exactly right. And gee, they they played like a top two side on on Sunday, but that we allowed them to do that. Um It's been the story of our year in regards to teams um ability to take pressure out of the game, but also our ability then to Uncontested marks. Yeah, and r and ramp up our pressure.
Richard 'Richo' Richardson 3:38
Well the dogs don't take a lot of uncontested marks, so it should be a different looking game this week.
Tony Greenberg 3:42
The tack the tackling is a real issue. Uh us sticking our tackles, under sticking them and then and then breaking tackles as well. So yeah, yeah, it is a real issue.
Richard 'Richo' Richardson 3:50
That's a massive focus point this summer, I think. I don't know what you do about it. If you you bring in a a a rugby guy like they used to to do tackling, I'm not sure, but you've got to stick tackles. As soon as you break a tackle now, the game is too hard to defend once you get out into open space.
