Quite high crime rates.
And when I was growing up, there's a point when it had, I think, about the same murder rate as New York.
Like it was, it was right around the time of the Weedy Bin Murders.
I don't know why I'm, I shouldn't be laughing.
But around that time.
And he's from a very working class family.

So he was the only one of his family to go to university.
And they were very like new middle class, my parents, if you know what I mean by that.
Yes.
And that was all very interesting.
He had a BMW with a private reg plate.
He wanted the trappings of, I've come from a working class family and now I've got somewhere else.
But his work was always interesting.
It is a branch of law that's endlessly fascinating.
And he worked so hard.
He still does some work, but he worked so hard.
I mean, his work... I hope I work hard.
His work ethic...
The phone would go in the middle of the night and it would be someone who'd been arrested at Mansfield Police Station and he would run down there and represent them and it would wake us all up on school nights.
