He he liked what he saw with the iPhone, thought, What you really need is an app store.

Was that a good move or not?
I don't know.
It's a great story.
But anyone can sign up as a partner of the Salesforce App Exchange.
Anyone, an individual, a company, etcetera.
If you're uh and that was your ISV applications you can build, so things that run on Salesforce.
Uh if you're um a company generally, you can also create a business case around being an OEM provider.
So I helped a lot of companies around the healthcare sector, patient records, things like that, uh autism diagnosis and treatment as well.
I act as an advisor on different things.
And those OEM applications include licenses.
So you're selling an application.
plus licenses like a traditional uh VAR value added reseller.
Now, as part of this program, you need to get certain certifications on the Salesforce platform.
And as part of a consultant in the ecosystem, in the SIs, you're recognized and valued on the number of people with those certifications.
So very much it was driven through the SIs where I was at and the ISVs, each one needed different certifications, but also my own personal growth.
So I did my first certification in 2008.
