That was really my motivation.
Once I completed all of that,
my wife, who always has good advice, gave me a bit of advice on this one.
She said, you know, it would be really nice if you had categories in front of every case, like a kind of a boil it down.
Like this is what color was the craft?
What did it do?
Did it enter the water?
Did it emerge from the water?
What shape was it?
And all of these factors.
And I ended up going back over all of the cases and I extracted those facts.
And then from that, I created a large spreadsheet
which I'd never created a spreadsheet before and this was a massive one.
But I'm so glad I did that because by seeing those cases laid out that way, I was able to see patterns and I was able to engage in a kind of analysis
like at the very beginning of this program i i said my biggest interest in this field is a kind of behavioral analysis of these craft and this is the reason why because i was able to study behavioral patterns uh in these uso craft that i would never have i would never have noticed had i not uh had i not done that legwork so there's so many things so in this particular volume so the first volume
It covers a long period of time from the earliest, from what I consider the earliest legit USO cases up until the end of 1969.
So that covers a long period of time.
The second volume only covers two decades, the 1970s and the 1980s, that's it.
And I think I wrote in the introduction,
uh this period suffers the typical made of the fate of the middle child you know because it's the middle volume in the series and it's easy to get forgotten but in a lot of ways the 1970s in particular were an absolutely peak decade of activity for this phenomenon a mind-blowingly peak activity i mean and this is all pre-internet keep in mind and still uh the the largest number of cases that i have been able to collect are from the 1970s
