If he comes back in the next few years, I thought McLean, when he came on, was decent.
McTominay's runs forward are really good as well.
I think there is a lot, if you actually take it into, depends how you look at it, if you want to take the positives, there are a lot of positives, Scotland's midfield, if chosen correctly, could have a really good blend, if Ferguson and McLean sat and let McTominay just go, kind of play off a Shankland, let Doak run wild on one wing and McGinn on the other, I think Scotland have got a really good team, when you say that
That's squad selection Andrew for me because two of the wingers he's took are Hurst and Stewart and I like Stewart for the central position but
they're not winners, they're not going to get you off your seat, they'll go to be good players, but, if Finlay Curtis gets you off his seat, and Ben Doak gets you off his seat, and I get that, and he's got dilemmas with Chris Day and McGinn having to play them and get them on the team, again, which I totally get, but,
there comes a time where you need to go, right, do you know what, I'll put three or four winners in the squad and we'll go, somebody comes on for the last 30 minutes and we'll play them.
Like, Finlay Curtis has zero chance of starting in this World Cup, but in the warm-up games he came on against was, uh, Olivia?
What was the game he came on?
I don't, no, he didn't start, he came on the game before.
And done really well, scored.
He's no chance of playing because Steve Clarke is stubborn on his team and don't get me wrong, Steve Clarke, and I'm saying this,
He does what he needs to do to get through, and I wouldn't be surprised if we go to the last 32 with a chance of getting through, because Steve Kirk, like a kind of Thomas Tuchel, probably as a tournament manager, I know the Euro didn't work, but the qualifying...
to all the tournaments he's qualified for three now I think he's probably got something in his head and if we were all the managers we would go attacking we would probably lose and go out with goal difference I get that and it would maybe be a little bit more enjoyable but you need to give him the benefit of the doubt that he's going to make decisions like a tourney one and some away he'll fall on his sword but some will get right and you're hoping he takes us to the last 32 Should we have had a penalty Margaret?
You don't mind if a referee's doing one or the other.
See if he's given a lot of fouls, which breaks up the game, but he's been consistent on it.
You maybe say, okay, when they let it flow, it's better to see the match, everything, the tempo of the match goes up.
However, when he lets it flow and you're seeing people getting pulled back slightly and then there's no advantage, I don't like to see that.
And I think last night he probably was just slightly out of his depth.
I think so.
I think that's... You've summed it up perfectly.
