And when people do make these strident, certain, confident statements...
It's emotionally immature.
And yes, it is a bit narcissistic.
It doesn't mean they have narcissistic personality disorder, but it's very self-indulgent.
Very, very self-indulgent.
I think it's unlikely.
So I'm not against what people would dismissively call conspiracy theories or against alternative media.
I think it happens on a scale.
There are conspiracies.
There's no doubt that there are conspiracies.
There's probably not one big one.
There's probably tons of little ones and they fight against each other.
So over here you have, it's engineered, it's a conspiracy.
And over on this side of the spectrum, it's just an emergent thing that just happens.
Everything that we see in the world is somewhere on that spectrum.
Some things are emergent and it actually suits the needs of a conspiracy.
Does that mean that they cause it to happen?
No, but they'll take credit for it.
So on and so forth.
