I think it's still a bit of a dirty word in the UK compared with America.

People that fail in business over here, well, that's terrible.

You better go and do something else.

In America, it's a stepping stone to learning and eventual success.

It's almost a badge of honor.

I mean, you're not a real entrepreneur if you haven't had a couple of failures in America.

Yes.

Whereas here, it doesn't feel quite the same.

So let's have more conferences.

Let's get the messages out in books and business magazines and celebrate those successes and role models.

How do you think we can sort of...

make entrepreneurship more interesting to younger people.

You know, I'm thinking kids at school.

Because a lot of people who come on the podcast started doing things or trading in some way or other when they're sort of still at school, which is really interesting.

I was selling white rabbits aged six, running a rabbit kennels aged eight, became a children's magician aged 10.

So you really did take the rabbit out of the house.

So how do we encourage that perhaps?

Because it seems that that begins a trajectory that leads to what you did.

There's some really encouraging statistics.

62% of secondary school pupils would be interested in running their own business.
