so called mujahideen, the Arab foreign fighters ally themselves with the Taliban because the Taliban are not strong enough on their own.

But the f US backed forces become known as the Northern Alliance.
And if you remember, two days before nine eleven on September ninth, the head of the Northern Alliance is murdered by an Al Qaeda cell posing as a Belgian camera crew.
They have a bomb inside the camera and it detonates.
That's how Massoud, the leader of the Northern Alliance, is killed on September ninth.
