I'm so grateful.

So, yeah, I'll read this poem.

And I guess I'm talking about the poem starts with thinking about the bloom on a plum.

That's a kind of waxy protein.

Still life with plums, melon, peaches, and moss-covered branches.

And all those plums, a startling shade of thunder, like, look at the bloom on those plums.

I never understood before how you could call discoloration, this full-body scar, a bloom, blossom.

and a melanin shadow like something that hasn't been grasped yet, like how maybe transference sends me into the arms of these difficult men who will hurt me and not let me heal, maybe.

How to be happy when happy is not even a thing.

I want to be like these peaches you haven't even noticed yet, each one a yolky ginger dawn coming up and tinting everything this crackled gold.

Oh, to be peachy keen, I will be again.

And it's not my fault that he found me because I was moss green, down, singing of life.

Like these branches, the last symbol that snapped me open with a kind of just been carried in from the garden realism.

Still life, yet still growing.

So keep on growing, Richard.
