Well, Hugging Face is this extremely interesting community, if you like, community of developers in the center of the AI industry.
All of these developers post their code there.
They go there to find code that they can develop.
It spans lots of different companies, lots of different people, and it's not the kind of thing that a big company normally owns.
So NVIDIA is thinking, we want to become ourselves.
A bigger developer of AI models.
We want them all to use our technologies.
So let's try to own this community.
Let's bring these developers into our orbit.
I you've actually hit on what is a really central question here.
There are 18 million developers who use Hugging Face.
They use all kinds of technologies.
They use different tools and different companies to develop their work.
NVIDIA has a really difficult balancing act because, on the one hand, it would love for all of these people to adopt NVIDIA technologies.
They can become part of its ecosystem, they can develop on its
Chips.
However, if it were to try to do that, it would cause a storm in the industry.
It's exactly what happened nearly 10 years ago when Microsoft bought GitHub.
Back then, GitHub was the biggest online code repository, something very similar.
And the entire world of developers said, hang on a minute, we don't want Microsoft stampeding in and squeezing us all into its technology ecosystem.
