That process can take a little while.
It probably is a really good idea now if you have a pay run that is going through between now and the end of June to decide
have a look at how long it takes for a superannuation contribution to get from you to the super fund.
Because if it's more than seven working days, you're probably in a spot and you need to talk to someone about this to see what can be sped up in the whole process.
So that's, I suppose, that's the first thing.
You're going to ask me something about that, aren't you, Sean?
Oh, absolutely.
Yeah.
I mean, if you know what the length of time is it's going to take you for a super contribution to go through, and you know it's going to come in at under seven days, I think, look, I think for the most part, you're mostly there.
Yeah.
The second part to that, though, is, of course, what happens if something rejects.
Now, of course, one of the new things that's coming into play in the new financial year is that there will be a requirement on super funds to either process or reject a contribution in three working days.
This is down from the current 20 working days or might even be 20 calendar days, but it's a longer period of time.
It does mean that where super funds get data that's not quite right, they can ring up the employer and say,
Just can you confirm this for me because something's not quite matching up here and then they can get it all processed.
They've got teams of people who do that.
If they're going to be doing that in three working days, first of all, they're not going to be able to actually call the employer.
They're going to just basically either process it or reject it.
And that means that for businesses who pay their employees to varying different super funds and they're not sure of what the data is, they're going to need to make sure it's correct.
So there's going to need to be a look at their employees' super fund data and make sure that it's all correct so that there's no pain when they go to make contributions later on.
