It felt quite like, what a journey.
I was so privileged to be there.
Because the margin to exceed expectations is very, very narrow.
And we basically win it.
We are reverting back to type in a way that we are now going, all right, the pressure is on.
They can't play as freely as they once did.
All these years on, I still remember where I was for all those key moments.
And I don't remember where I was for other tournaments in that way.
But that 2018 one is nothing like the first time, eh?
What's your relationship been like over the years with England as a fan, would you say, Dan?
Being, well, yeah, so being Pakistani British and actually going further than that, I consider myself more a Pakistani Londoner rather than the British thing is a complicated thing, even though they were over in India for like 300 years.
So maybe I should feel British.
But I think England was always kind of that thing that,
oh, this is a good way to feel a belonging and an identity.
But it always kind of felt like I was coming to someone's house party that I didn't know.
So I was watching everyone have the party and I was kind of there like, this is fun, but I wish my mates were here.
