Rick Edwards 0:55
Hello and welcome to the Premier League review. Joining me to break down the big stories from the third weekend of games, the Telegraph's Northern football writer Luke Edwards and former Premier League striker Clinton Morrison. Hello both. Hello. Good to be here. Clinton, I've I've missed you, Luke. Um how how are you? What no what?
Luke Edwards 1:14
What? What? No, don't pause. Don't pause for me to say don't pause.
Rick Edwards 1:18
Clint Clinton, I've missed you and Luke. And then just Luke's here.
Clinton Morrison 1:22
I've missed both you. I've missed both of you. I'm good. I've missed you, Clinton. I've needed
Luke Edwards 1:27
I've needed I've needed you, like I've never needed you before, quite frankly.
Rick Edwards 1:31
He has actually been talking about you, you know, Clintus. No, I know he said yeah.
Clinton Morrison 1:37
When I when I seen it and he writes gravy shoes, I was thinking who's he talking and then I realized from last season it's me he's talking about I know, I'm here, I'm here right now. I knew it was me, but I was trying to think it was someone else.
Rick Edwards 1:49
Um, Luke, are you still are you still limping around feeling sorry for yourself? Very much so. Yeah. Do you wanna quickly explain to Clinton?
Clinton Morrison 1:56
Yeah, can you explain
Rick Edwards 1:57
me? Actually I'll do it. Luke broke his foot kicking some grass in a media match.
Clinton Morrison 2:02
Playing trying to play football. Trying to play football. Do you know what this makes me laugh, Rick? Everyone thinks they can play football. Oh, I couldn't stand with a two TP. I'm only joking, Luke.
Luke Edwards 2:13
I was a player. I was I was a player. I just wasn't a ver I just wasn't a very good one. Okay, but you can't that's I was still a player. I still played the game. You know, I don't know. How long did you
Rick Edwards 2:22
play for? Seven minutes.
Luke Edwards 2:23
No, I I touched the ball once in seventeen minutes and then broke the top.
Rick Edwards 2:27
And then yeah, and then broke your own foot. Uh we've got loads to talk about actually. So let's deal with Arsenal Chelsea first. Um which is the first meeting I think between two big hitters in in the league. Uh Champions Arsenal maintained their perfect start, came from behind to beat Chelsea. Morgan Rogers are giv given Chelsea a very early lead. Then Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard turned things around. And I've got Say Arsenal were s like ch I th Chelsea were good. I thought Arsenal were were superb and just sort of relentless. Like they just were pushing and pushing and pushing. And I was I was really impressed with Unclinton.
Clinton Morrison 3:06
Yeah, I was super impressed as well. You know what? I feel like last season they got the confidence of winning the league and the style of play everyone complained about it. This season I think the reins have gone off. He signed more better players to improve the squad and they're just playing with freedom and they look outstanding. When every minute they got even Solis on struggled against Villa. I thought today he was outstanding on that left hand side. So they've recruited ever so well and it was a good game 'cause play to Chelsea. Chelsea went toe toe to toe with them, but Arsenal have got that X factor at the moment. They the thing is with Arsenal we need to keep all these players fit and healthy, even though the bench is strong, but yeah, they've got outstanding players.
Clinton Morrison 3:43
I thought Odegaard would run the game as well.
Rick Edwards 3:45
He did, he did. And and it it was just 'cause that that you you're right to raise the the criticism, I think, Clinton, of of Arsenal last season, which is, yeah, they won the league, but they weren't great to watch. And this th this game, for me, completely put that to bed.
