In catering to Montembeau, Marty St.
Louis was not prioritizing the needs of the Montreal Canadiens.
He was sacrificing points, and that is clear.
We had a talk about this in our Slack group, trying to figure out how many points that Marty and Montembeau have given up and where the Canadians could be sacrificing.
Exactly.
He was just sacrificing the points by firmly and stubbornly starting Montembeau to the detriment of the Canadians.
His decisions were purely emotional decisions.
And following the disaster, the final coffin, as you said, management stepped in and insisted on recalling Fowler.
Do we know that for sure?
I'm reading between the lines, but not very much.
Okay.
You saw how Marty reacted.
You saw how he told the story of the recall.
It was very personal to him.
He was hardly challenged when asked about the Fowler recall, and he said, I'm not going to answer 40 questions.
He snapped at reporters and refused to talk about the reasons for recalling Fowler.
And then after the Fowler win, after Fowler was outstanding,
Marty admitted how emotional this was, saying, Monty is a guy I love and adore.
That's why it made this so hard.
And this is... Oh, well.
