I mean, we all love trees.
We all love hedgerows in this country.
There's a proliferation of tree planting charities and and free trees for communities, and it's all excellent and and and for for for climate and all of those things.
And we we we're not I don't think where anyone's claiming that Ireland has an awful lot of trees.
Um we know we're the lowest in in in Europe for for tree cover and all that.
However
If you're a waiter, trees aren't necessarily your friend.
Then we also subsidized farmers to plant those areas to drain that land and plant them with trees.
And now we're saying, Well, actually, lads, you metabolics of that.
We're kind of blaming them.
And saying, Well, now you may take off the trees and and re-wet the land.
We're calling it rewetting.
If your granddad and your father spent eighty, fifty eighty years getting that land in production, a chap from fledged just out of college arrives at your door saying, Buy you just to do this now.
It's a difficult journey to go on.
We're trying it we're right, we're trying to promote native trees in this country, which is good.
But often on the farm, the place where the farmers want to put the trees is also the best wettest spot in the farm that's probably best for waders.
So you're now competing.
Wait.
the tree people who are doing what they l is is correct for them, but now you're competing with for land.
You're competing for space now.
