And this is just my only slightly fancier way of just saying never has to be born but

I think uh I think that's a very serious thing and that's something that really did get me interested in this in in procreative ethics.

Um and

the approach I and and I feel the approach I take in in the book and to philosophy in general is very theory grounded, maybe more so than other people who do ethics that has, you know, an application.

Um, because I feel like you know I don't I feel like starting with the applied part is just like starting from the middle of the story.

So I'm also interested in, you know, ethical theories and theories of obligation, in particular and we'll talk about this on short later, contractualist theory, and but that's sort of how I got interested in

in what I talk about in the book.

Oh.

So and if I think about what as you as you said um at the beginning of this i interview that most people think of life as a mixed bag and so when you create somebody you're putting them into this mixed bag with the risks of both positive and negative outcomes and everything in between and so

If you think about what

you're actually doing how to fit this kind of act, even though it seems very a very unique act, into other f other forms of a other forms of

ways we interact with other people and see if we can sort of fit it into a

an ethical theory that covers also how we deal with other people.

So what is it that we're doing to another person when we create them?

Um and to say that it's just giving them this and a lot of people think it's, you know, you're giving the gift of life, people are grateful to be alive.
