But it's just it's just not odd to give a gift to somebody that they never asked for that could harm them and that even more so will harm them unless they take a lot of steps to make sure it doesn't.
Because you know, ha life is not a passive gift.
It's like, you know, not even like a it's more like a a puppy you have to take care of and even worse, 'cause you know, if you don't take care of the puppy you're kind of
not a very nice person and the puppy's gonna suffer.
But if you don't take care of your life and work really hard at it, you're the one who's gonna suffer.
And so
It just doesn't seem like you're giving somebody a gift.
It's more like giving them this big job.
You know, David Vellman says you're putting them in a predicament and that sounds like it's even worse than a gift.
Um
Uh, although I think he backed a little bit away from that at various points.
Um other people who are more optimistic, I think, think of it as adding value to the world and just doing this great thing.
You know, like people are great and life is great and you're just doing more of it.
Um and that seems to me again very overly optimistic because only some people are great and some people are horrible.
Um
And
a and you're you're not so you wouldn't always be adding value to the world and if you're gonna be adding uh and I also find the idea of just adding value to the world a very strange thing to think about as if value comes in like pieces and you can add to it quantitatively by just putting another
piece in.
Uh and it does you know, it doesn't seem like what anybody thinks they're doing when they procreate um
And it also doesn't take into account
