uh the risks that you that the other person that the person you create has to cope with once you've created this great value or whatever else you think about.

So I think that risk imposition is the most accurate way of describing what it is you're doing.

when you have a child.

And also it also fits into the why you do it.

You do it 'cause you want to.

Hopefully it's okay under certain circumstances.

But that's why you do it.

It's not like you're trying to be such a great person 'cause there are more effective ways of being a great person or of adding value to the world or of giving gifts for that matter.

So, um I just think it's more realistic.

to talk about it as a risk imposition and also more balanced in terms of how life can turn out.

Um and I yeah, I guess I just think it's the most accurate way to describe what you're doing to the person you're doing it to, to the person that will be born.

So I don't think that they address this particularly Sol Smolinsky has this has a paper on whether he among other people, you know, has a paper about why

adding val you know, why you should be able to have children as adding value to the world.

And I don't think I think and it's fair I think for people who have this view to say, well, you don't always have to maximize the value that you add.

So then you don't have to do these other ways of maximizing value.

You don't have to go be Mother Teresa or whatever, but it's permissible to add value in this way.

But that really is kind of talking about permissibility before you're thinking about what it is that you're doing.

And it just seems to me, um

just flat out false to say that all you're doing is adding value.

You could be adding disvalue, you're adding you're adding a you're adding a possibility of value and a possibility of negative value.
