Right, what impact is it gonna have on their self respect, on their ability to be well nourished, those kinds of things.

So um if you think about some of the surprising aspects, I think one of the surprising aspects is it turns out that um you have these kind of procreative diminishing returns because w so that you have much more of a interest in having the first child and therefore much more more procreative latitude.

uh because the con because constraining you from having that first child will impose a very steep cost on you.

But once you have a child then you are already a parent.

You're already engaging in the parent child relationship as a parent and having another child is just, you know

Like having a second helping.

Um and yeah, it's great, it's a lot of fun, but it's the cost to you, the cost between zero and one child is a is steep, the cost of having one child instead of two i is not as steep and two instead of three, even less, and let's say eight instead of nine, I mean, come on.

So um it's very hard to justify um very large families.

That would be very difficult to justify.

And it so that's not so so surprising.

But what might be surprising is that the value to the parent of the first child is unique and different from the value of any subsequent child and is greater.
