But even though she doesn't want to be recorded, Edna and I speak for almost forty minutes.
Edna tells me about her involvement in the community.
She's been a member of the Country Women's Association for years, and she's a regular face at the local markets.
She says all the accusations flying around about Jack's disappearance, putting kids and even her name in the middle of it, it sent her into a nervous breakdown.
Edna backs up what Neil said and confirms that Jack did come to her house that night.
By cross-referencing that with a bunch of other known sightings of Jack around Wandai that day, it means Jack and Chris were likely there close to 5.30 p.m., about two and a half hours after they first got to fix.
Edna says she only saw Jack briefly out the front when he arrived.
They said a quick hello, then Jack walked towards the back of the property where Kid and Twyler lived.
I ask Edna if there was anyone else at the house that night.
So who was physically in the house, just so I can be 100% sure?
She drops a few names but quickly pedals them back, unsure if they were actually there or if she's got a night mixed up.
Whatever the case, Edna tells me she's spoken to Kid about what happened that night.
And he promised her nothing bad went down.
As we get to the end of our conversation, Edna tells me she's open to doing an interview, but she wants to check with a solicitor first.
She tells me to call back later in the week.
