So I felt, guys, very positive after the game that the Edmonton Oilers have found their game defensively and that bodes well going into the playoffs.
Well, he cleans up mistakes, and there's always going to be a mistake, even if your team's playing well.
No team plays a perfect game.
He's consistent.
He looks confident.
And I can tell you from experience that when I played and I had a confident goaltender,
It gave me confidence as a player because there's no fear of making a mistake and you can play, you know, a little freer knowing that, okay, if something goes wrong, he's got our back instead of that jittery feeling you have on a bench that, oh, we can't mess up at all because our goalie is not stopping beach ball tonight.
So right now they're getting the goaltending that they desperately need.
And we all know that goaltending in playoffs is everything.
And I think what they've got right now with Connor Ingram is exactly what they need to go on a long playoff run.
So good defensive hockey combined with a goaltender that's at the top of his game to be spells success going forward for the Edmonton Oilers.
Oh, one team that everybody fears is,
in the first round of the playoffs is the team that got in because they were on a run at the end of the season.
A team that had to win eight of 10, whose last dozen games were all playoff type games because of the magnitude of what they were each and every night.
That team is already in playoff mode and you fear them.
You could be a, you just won the president's trophy or you just, you've clinched your division and you've just floated through the last eight, nine games.
There was nothing to play for.
And that's when bad habits get into your game.
The focus isn't the same.
Even though you talk about it in the dressing room and you stress it on the bench, it's not the same.
