Straight away, it's like, okay, I'm attached to this now.
Now I'm actually in this as well because –
even if they're successful it's like well now we have a plan to work towards out of this as well that we can do something with it's not just i'm the right person for the job and i've been fortunate that i've sat in interviews where someone wildly overqualified for the role has applied for the role
And even they have managed to come across as not arrogant, confident, with examples, but saying, look, here are some areas where I might fall over on this.
I'm used to working with professional athletes.
I'm coming into work with junior athletes.
That might take a little while for me to adjust to and say, oh, okay, good.
But now I'm not searching for problems.
I've had one presented to me, which I really like.
It's just a really great thing for mine.
So...
The other one that I would always recommend before the interview when we talk preparation, ask about the tech.
Like if you are coming in and you have to give a presentation to someone and it might be filmed for argument's sake, okay, is it an HDMI?
Do you need me to bring a cable?
What is this going to look like?
Because we've all seen it go sideways where it's just like I can't get it to work and you can see straight away, flustered.
The person is just, yeah, everything that could possibly have gone wrong has gone wrong.
They've put their whole identity and potentially a week's worth of work
