You don't have to go quite to that level, obviously, but that awareness around the bias, I think, is a really important one.
But how would you go if you've gone through interviews and you're not happy with the candidates?
Do you still appoint or do you say, hey, this is not an ideal situation for us?
We're going to look at this again and maybe open it up again.
Yep, that'd be the same from the coaching side.
Yeah, cool.
So we're going to assume that a candidate has been unsuccessful because, you know, glass half empty approach to most things.
How do they go about dealing with that?
Like, and avoiding the whole you've missed out and you're now on the never list rather than you've missed out and you're just on the not for now list.
Like, how can the candidates sort of go about that, I guess, Don?
And just leaving it in a positive place.
I think too, it's, and look, we've all had it over the years where unsuccessful candidate, you give them the feedback, they're nice as pie about it and they get great.
And then you hear sort of through other channels, it's like, oh, they're not nice as pie about this.
They're pretty salty on this.
And it's like, cool.
Like, let's just remember, it's not a, you don't necessarily need to follow up with it, but it's just a, okay, noted.
And that's okay.
Absolutely.
No, I really like that idea.
Like always keep it civil on the other end of it, because again, you might be applying in 12 months time, in which case you want to speak to the growth that's happened in that 12 months, or you just might need them as a resource somewhere else down the road.
