I kind of feel like for coaches as well.

Like if you can't create a safe environment, we probably don't want you coaching kids.

That's the reality of of what we're dealing with at the moment.

I think it's the the bare minimum that our kids should expect when they walk in the door is that they're gonna feel safe, welcomed, a part of something as they move forward because potentially this will be the only time you coach this player.

Uh or this is the only time that player will be in this team.

they'll move on to other teams, you'll move on to other teams.

But it would be great in four years time if you do end up in the same team for whatever reason, either as a coach or players or whatever it is that are they

the first thought is not a groan of like, Oh, this again, this is not gonna be a good experience so because of course what's the result?

Player doesn't come back and it's something we try and tell our coaches quite a lot.

We don't really know if you've done a good job or not as a coach.

Um, until about two or three years afterwards.

And that's you know, yes, everyone can win games and scoreboards matter and we all understand the the win and loss and all that sort of stuff.

But

Yeah.

if your players don't come back, that's usually the first sign of this hasn't been a good experience.

And that's challenging.

There are so many reasons for kids not to play sport at the moment.

Uh cost being one of them.

Straight off um

why give them another reason to not play?
