I think that there is a just sort of foundational level of pessimism about the future from a lot of people.
I think there is a sense that nothing works anymore.
Certainly not the government.
Certainly not the media.
I think social trust is going down.
And so I think that that changes everything.
Like who the conception of like a swing voter is.
And I think like political campaigns for a long time have been like a swing voter is somebody who like maybe votes for a Republican and maybe votes for a Democrat and is like a moderate.
And I think that a lot of the campaign was sort of architected around that ethos, which is the traditional campaign ethos, right?
What it means to moderate, what it means to whatever.
Yeah.
And I think fundamentally, like James Talrico uses this now, but like this idea of like left, right, up, down, I think there's some truth, right, to the idea that there are voters who are like, like, fuck all of you people.
Like, I don't, I fucking hate all of this and I hate you.
And if you're in charge, you're going to get it, you know, like, and this is true for conservatives.
