Yeah, I am part of this, too.
And so the aesthetics of like Democratic campaign world, it's not legible.
Like you literally, you know, the like kind of disaffection that people feel.
And so I think that like shades some of the decision making.
Other parts of it are just.
I think like a cultural view of an old set of rules, like what it means to persuade voters from the ground up is test the best message, say it at people a lot via like mostly television media, and they'll eventually believe it versus the opposite, which is sort of like building messaging up from what people is resonating with people, which is what conservatives do quite well.
And so I think there is just like a cultural construction of what it means to like –
like be in a campaign and be in politics.
That is like a little data that exists in democratic politics.
In addition, just sort of like not having it be visible because everyone is like college educated urbanite, you know, who's like working on these things.
There are things that live in politics that you just can't measure.
There are tools that we use to make public opinion legible, polling, focus groups – well, less focus groups, but all the stuff.
And I think that this is an issue that meaningfully affected the way you had to communicate and the brick wall that you had to communicate through.
But was it the thing that voters in a poll would say was like, I care about this a lot?
It's like, what's moving my vote when I say it out loud?
No.
No, but like was it a thing that you go on the internet, no one's saying anything nice about Harris because if they do, they're going to get whacked on this or they are saying proactively bad things about Harris on this.
Like it just – it made it so that there was a weight around the campaign.
And so it's like is it – there were people running around saying, well, no, it's not moving voters.
It doesn't really matter.
