This is generally sort of controversial, but the idea of the evolutionary adapted environment or the environment of evolutionary adaptation, wasn't scarcity more or less the norm?

And so this idea that we have an evolved module to detect scarcity versus abundance, I mean,

So in environments of scarcity, they prefer heavier women.
On this point, total conjecture here, but in both environments, fatness or thinness could signal conscientiousness.
So if you are in an environment of abundance and you're thin, that signals impulse control and the ability to withstand temptation, conscientious personality.
And then in environments of scarcity, if you're big, that means you're conscientious because you went out and acquired the calories and you're a hard worker.
