That's dumb cricket.
There's a big difference between that.
Some people you need to be hard on.
Some people you need to put an arm around them.
Some people you need different ways to the same person, if that makes sense.
So those conversations happen.
And that's where Brendan works, one-on-one, all the time, trying to help players maximise their potential.
And for the most part, I think he's done it bloody well.
You look, Harry Brook's got to number one in the world.
Harry Brook averages, what, 55-plus in test cricket.
A lot of that goes down to Brendan McCullum and the way that he's played.
Now, Harry Brook has to find a way to deal with what's coming at him, like Jamie Smith does.
And that might be the coaches that are around him in that environment.
It might be him going back to whoever he works with at Surrey.
It might be us trying to bring in consultants to try and help him do that.
Those conversations happen.
They just might not happen all the time in a team unit.
