And all I want to do is be a rock and roll singer.
And coming towards me is an elderly man from a little church on the corner of my street.
And he says to me, it's Robert, isn't it?
And I say, yes.
He said, well, Robert, he said, my wife and I are going to start a little discussion group for teenagers.
Now, Arthur and Margaret were poor.
They lived in two rooms in his mother's house.
They were told they couldn't have kids of their own.
He'd never pass an academic exam, but they used to work with teenagers, a little church on the corner of my street.
He said, would you like to come on Wednesday night?
John, when all you want to do is be a rock and roll singer and go on the stage in Las Vegas, that little discussion was not the greatest stuff you've ever had.
But I said, yes.
And one day when I was about 16, he said, I think God has given you a gift of public speaking.
And I'm going to teach you.
That was scary.
He was the worst public speaker you've ever heard in your life.
And he taught me to teach stories to the kids in the little Sunday school.
