There's always something that people are putting in and taking away.

I think it's very rare where I have to put books in myself.

Most of the time it seems to be quite self-sufficient.

But you're right, there is quite a few of them.

I noticed the map of the Lidiput Libraries, which you can find on the Lidiput Library website.

It's got some over in Australia as well, I think as well.

And so it's actually gone quite international there.

What drew you personally to becoming a Lilliput librarian?

Yeah, yeah, absolutely.

And so what do you notice about how people interact with the books when there's no transaction involved?

Because obviously libraries we've got and people can go to libraries and in the book bus and what have you.

But Lilliput libraries are a little bit outside of that, but also within that same sort of space.

So is there kind of like a difference in how people interact with the books through the Lilliput libraries?

Yeah, yeah.

I mean, that's a really good way of putting it, generosity of spirit, because obviously it's contributing to waste minimisation or that circular way of thinking.

So how else do you think that the Lilliput Libraries kind of contributes to that circular way of thinking?

Yeah, I know.

I think one of the things that I think about when it comes to books is the longevity of them because obviously, you know, think about our earliest civilisations and how we've still got information from that, I guess, the physical writing down of that act of keeping records or what have you, which in our digital age, you know, that's a lot harder to do.

Like it's probably going to be unlikely and, you know,

a thousand years that people understand the records that we're keeping now, because it's just that implosion of digital, whereas books are forever.
