Well, it depends.
They admit that they work for an economist, that tariffs are not a great idea.
They're kind of dumb trade strategy because your opponent is rolling boulders into the harbor, his harbor.
Why should you do the same thing?
Well, it's because it's a language he understands.
It's clearly provoked him.
It's got his attention.
But it reminds the politicians who support him, people like Rogers in Michigan, who's running for the Senate and others like that, that there is a price to be paid for supporting Donald Trump and his tariffs and that they may pay that price.
And so you have you have a very, very tight race for the Democratic Socialists now leading
for the Senate in the state of Michigan, and he is running against Donald Trump's tariff.
So it reminds politicians around Trump that they may pay this price.
That's the reason why Mark Carney's government is doing what it's doing on tariffs.

Yeah, look, things are very grim in certain parts of the country, but I don't think we should paint a dystopian picture just yet.
As it is now, less than 10% of the trade between Canada and the United States is being tariffed at an excessive rate.
The danger lies in the next step.
Again, I don't want to minimize what's going on in places like Sault Ste.
Marie and Jean-Claire-Alma, and in Windsor, southwestern Ontario, and in the forest industry on both coasts.
It's real.
