You know that.

Real quick, a tip of the cap to John Skipper, because I firmly believe that behind the scenes, he was one of the driving forces that changed that narrative.

And it started at ESPN.

You know, I was a young buck at ESPN as a production assistant and I did some reporting and some other things, but soccer was a joke.

It was an inconvenience.

It was low hanging fruit.

And, and to, to John's credit, he came in and he kind of laid down the law and like, no more, like,

this is the world's game.

This is the world sport.

This is a growing sport in this country and we need to treat it with the respect.

So to John tip of the cap, thank you for everything you've done to grow soccer in this country.

I think the changing moment for me was the 2002 world cup and ESPN had it back then.

And I was doing studio work in Charlotte, North Carolina, living on Korea, Japan time in North Carolina, North Carolina during the summer.

Um,

And that was, I think, kind of like a throwaway World Cup in a lot of bosses' minds.

Like, ah, the hours are awful.

No one's going to watch.

And then all of a sudden, we're getting these viral videos of people waking up at ungodly hours in places like the Dakotas and Nebraska and gathering in mass to watch the games and care about it.

And I think for me, that was the World Cup.

That was the trigger moment where I was like, no, no, no, we're going to be fine.
