I guess we'll we just like compare how good it is at that com with other nearby um cases and say this this is totally inconsistent.

One reason you were keen in control was because you thought that the alternatives available were not were not super promising.
Um and I guess one of those is like I said, obviously obviously just alignment.
That was kind of the the dominant paradigm before.
Um yeah, how how poho optimistic or pessimistic do you feel about alignment these days?
So alignment.

A different approach is to come up with better ways of checking alignment or measuring the degree of alignment i in a model before you deploy it or before you uh yeah get get it recursively self improving.
Um I guess that feels like maybe a bit of an intermediate uh approach.
How how optimistic do you feel about that?

Th they just do more like standard things to try to measure what the values of the of the AI are without imagining that it's doing everything in its power to to to hide that that that it w has another agenda.
