um senior leaders that we've all mentioned today come along and sit across from a policy maker like that.
And
they they uh see for the first time that he or she fully understands what you're saying.
and understands the uh the fact that these are small businesses no different than any other business other than that they uh have acquired the use of a brand and uh that they do business under certain rules, uh uh
they uh uh
the when they see that the the f they still don't get the the support uh or the votes from those folks, uh, it's enormously frustrating and they often say to us that c you know, that
that uh they they just can't believe that someone would do something that's not rational or reasonable.
Uh and so or even to to find some way to to to draw a compromise down the middle.
Uh but uh uh it is uh it is very simple uh in many cases.
People are uh are driven uh too much in this country by politics.
And uh they uh uh it's easy for them uh to want to paint something as either black or white or good or evil and uh and then uh uh pursue it uh
It is a rare a r a more rare quality, uh increasingly over time I find, where you have thoughtful people that sit down and try to understand a problem and try to
uh uh a accommodate
where it really is in the world as opposed to where they would like it to have it be or to make it simple for themselves to have it painted in that direction.
And Seattle is the uh is the epitome of that kind of a a a situation and uh that's why I was so proud when this board decided to take that case on.
And uh
uh w we're not gonna be able to stop
uh minimum wage increases across the United States.
But um singling out um a particular
uh business model
