Telegram used to be, right?

Telegram never was.

That's the thing.

That's what all came out.

Telegram in group chats have never been encrypted.

The only time that you ever have an encrypted conversation, whether on one-on-one or as group chat, is if you actually sign up for a secret chat, which I don't know a single person that ever did that.

Telegram is not default encrypted.

He got arrested in France because the government wanted just unilateral access, and he said, no, I'm not going to give it.

And the reason why he had to eventually give it was because it was all on centralized servers.

So under the law, if I had all everybody's chats on my centralized server, the government showed up.

I'd have no choice but to give it up to them.

But I created instead a system that's built on blockchain and built on decentralized.

And I don't have control.

It's not on my centralized server.

It's spread across the whole IPFS.

That's why WhatsApp already admitted that they had literally CIA and FBI operatives working inside their office.
