Are they here to stay?
Yeah, those those two I think are unignorable.
They've really risen in the past year.
Perps, uh, for one thing, you know, it was not always clear that perpetual futures, that's what we mean by perps.
It wasn't always clear that perpetual futures were going to be the product that people who want to speculate on crypto use.
Over the past year, it's kind of become clear that people have gravitated toward it.
Why is that?
What what about perps?
has been so appealing to people looking to to place bets on the price direction of crypto.
One question that I have about this, given that we're now on the other side of what was not quite a flash crash, but was a pretty large market uh drawdown, are people playing with fire here?
Has this introduced something like that?
Well anytime you're playing with leverage, you're playing with fire.
Anytime you're playing with leverage, you're playing with that.
There is a subtle or slight irony in that, you know, crypto, this thing that was sort of invented out of a desire to move away from the fractional reserve banking system, and now we're we're back at kind of introducing all this leverage back into the system.
It's sort of like one way to put it
what you're doing.
Let's move on to prediction markets, because that has been another big story.
And uh you know, the irony there with prediction markets is that if you were a betting man, a betting person, and you were gonna say whether prediction markets would stick around after the election, a lot of people said that they expected it to fizzle out, that there wouldn't be interest to sustain this thing.
And that seems not to have been the case.
You were a crypto convert because of prediction markets.
