And one of the great strengths of the monarchy is that that because the armed forces owe their allegiance to the monarch, there no politician can get their hands on it.

Same with the judiciary, same with the civil service, same with the honour system, all these things.

that are in the hands of the wrong people um can lead to tyranny and whatever.

Uh that doesn't happen uh in in the UK.

But as you say that that sort of non non engagement.

I mean when when uh when when Boris was sort of being pushed to uh to he was he was about to resign, everyone was sort of terrified that he might actually just sort of go and call an election.

He couldn't just do that.

He would have to get um the uh the

the approval um or the go the the the the formal uh approval from the sovereign.

Um and so uh th I mean obviously uh the the monarch is never gonna stop the elected prime minister from doing what the elected prime minister wants to do on the basis that they're they're doing it for the right reasons and it's being done in the right way.

Um and so yeah at at at that time uh there was a worry that you know uh Boris might just

pick up the phone and go, I'm thinking of having an election.

The Queen might say, Oh, that's very nice.

And Right, I've got her approval.

Okay.

That's fine.

Let's have an election.

Um it didn't happen.
