And I warrant that if, based on the sentiment data that we had then, which is not as bad as now, but we had then was already very worrisome, that we had to worry that matched

we would have assassination attempts against people on the right, and that we would have President Trump use military-style immigration enforcement in cities like Chicago, and then it later became Minneapolis. matched

And then what happened just three months later, Chris, we had the Charlie Kirk assassination, matched

We had Operation Midway Blitz in Chicago, and we had Metro Blitz in Minneapolis. matched

Basically, all those concerns that I laid out in that middle of June 2025 op-ed literally happened just a few months later. matched

And what you hear today is the sentiments here for political violence are much higher matched

And you're hearing a similar set of warnings by me here today, which is we are really on the brink of the most dangerous elections in our lifetimes. matched

And there's no signs of any pushback of this by our political leaders. matched

You hear almost no political leaders being concerned about political violence occurring, certainly not by their own constituents. matched

To the extent you hear about political violence, the leaders are perfectly happy to call out the other side. matched

But unless the leaders will restrain their own constituents, you get the cycle that I'm matched

not sure how much it would have changed, Chris, because it's a function of the social changes. matched

I know people want to believe that if only their side won, everything would be fine. matched

That's not what this book is telling you. matched

And maybe that's a frustration because people just want to hear, oh, yes, the Democrats just win, then we're all hunky-dory, or if the Republicans win, we're all hunky-dory. matched
