We have seen a rally around the flag effect when the president of the United States from whichever party, and it's been both parties, and we have data going all the way back to the 1950s, when the president of the United States says it's important enough that we're going to use force, you get at least a short-term couple months bump of a rally around the flag effect, even from the other party. matched

People just defer to the president on foreign policy. matched

Maybe they won't stay with him long. matched

So I'm not telling you they're just going to ride and die with that president and so forth. matched

But what I'm telling you is this has been a phenomenon that has been going on for, what, seven decades now? matched
