We can disagree about how much over the medical bills you need to pay, but if you're offering half the medical bills,
It's a waste of my time.
Um, and then it becomes the request of the client.
Like what's what is the client's expectation, right?
And so my practice is always
And and and that's that's where that's where the conversation with the client becomes really, really important, right?
Um so in Missouri and Illinois, you can certainly present evidence of reasonably expected future medical care, right?
Hey, I'm gonna need a back surgery in the future, I'm gonna need pain management injections, whatever it may be.
And sometimes insurance companies are concerned about those, other times they
They're like, we don't even care.
Right.
We're we're not considering this.
But after you get that offer a settlement, that's where I talk to the client.
I say, hey, what do you want to do with this?
Sometimes I you know, sometimes the clients have no intention of ever getting
a recommended future treatment, which is totally fine and and so I say, Hey
We better move this quick because every day that we don't get the actual recommended treatment, um
Is is a day that it becomes a little bit less valuable, right?
Because by the time you get it to trial, if you're like, oh, four years ago said you were supposed to get a surgery, have you have you done anything to get prepared for that surgery?
