So, you know, Greg Caruso, the the free will skeptic, was a classmate of mine and he started as a jazz bassist.
That's what I mean.
And there's just you know, Tom Brooks was a jazz major, uh uh at William Patterson who decided to uh uh leave the jazz program.
I mean well, Lee, I mean it was a it was a ruthless jazz program.
I don't know if Lee was the right word, but
Um, you know, and he decided to do philosophy and politics.
But um anyway, uh you know, there's there's a socio there's a sociolog a sociological program or project uh to be built in to like how many philosophers like got into philosophy by way of music.
Um let's talk um
uh about the book now.
Um so the let's start with the background, which um, you know, some of our listeners might already, you know, have a lot of uh uh you know m know a lot about what's uh what's uh in the background of this kind of project, but maybe not all.
So um
Let me put it this way.
You know, your book is the the subtitle leave it is sort of democracy is, you know, the what the merits, this maybe the core merit of democracy is um
uh how it drives social pro progress.
But we're living through times where um, you know, w one might find that a curious kind of claim, well maybe more curious than it might have sounded uh uh, you know, th fifteen to twenty years ago.
Um
A major party candidate who ran on the message of progress, we're not going back, uh lost.
Um in in our the United States presidential election.
