There's amazing portraits of artists, of singers, not just aristocrats.

Well, obviously she was, Julie, the daughter, was the subject of those maternal portraits.

Beautiful portraits.

And she seems, you'd take from those portraits, certainly really doted on her in her early life.

But then the relationship seems to deteriorated and quite dramatically.

But she follows her around the European court.

Well, she duly marries the secretary to the director of the Imperial Theater theaters in Russia.

But it's it's a marriage that she doesn't approve of.

and things deteriorate from that point.

And it's a rather sad ending to Julie's life.

She ends up dying in poverty, even though her mother is one of the wealthiest people around.

So there was clearly a big breakdown in their relationship, which you wouldn't guess from those very early double portraits.
