So we're in the 2nd century Roman Egypt.

We're discussing how the economy at the time operated for the 90%.

Not the elites, not the senators, not the emperors, just ordinary people, the plebs.

And to do this, we're looking at a semi-fictional ancient Roman farming family.

This Satiricus, our tenant farmer, his wife Thesus, and his lovely children, son Horus.

And daughter Athia.

And we're about to throw them, well, sorry, some terrible, horrible, no-good economic problems that were typical of the time.

Let's say there was a drought, and the satiricuses find themselves deep in debt because of it.
