So that once we had him identified and we started putting subpoenas in for some of the electronics, be it his laptop, his cell phone, some other things, we saw some issues that, you know, this is somebody that's not just engaging with a sex worker for one night time frame.
This is somebody that really had some
ugly side of him.
And between that and internet searches, him purchasing burner phones, we were able to really get a closer look at what Rick Shearman was about.
Yeah.
So initially, and I don't remember the
the exact date, but it was going to be a couple of days after the July 13th when we eventually moved in at 830.
But somehow Ray Tierney has some concerns that the information may be getting out because we did a
a long-term grand jury, and he was indicted, and we were trying to figure out a game plan on where we were going to lock him up, how we were going to lock him up.
Remember, we also looked into how many guns he had registered.
He was a big hunter, so he had 97 guns registered to him.
And...
We were trying to figure out, do we knock on his door in Massapequa and lock him up?
Do we catch him on a train?
Do we go to his office?
Kevin Byer actually came up with this strategy of let's get him coming out of work.
And that was the way to go.
And I got a phone call from one of Ray Tierney's people saying, hey, we're going to move in today and place Rex Freeman under arrest.
So I was in Harlem at the time or Manhattan at the time.
