We had somebody approach him and let him know he was under arrest.
And after that, we put the handcuffs on him, put him in a white van that was wired up for hearing any types of conversation.
And the only thing that he said is that he wanted a lawyer.

Was it something that where did he rape them first and say, well, because I raped them, I need to get rid of the bodies?
It would be very, very unfair and wrong for me as a law enforcement professional to speculate the motive of a sociopath like Rex Sherman.
I will say this, that this is a horrific crimes.
He's torn families apart.
I was very unhappy with not only him being able to take a plea, but during the sentencing, he didn't have the courage to say anything to the family members.
So regarding what the motive is, it's hard to say the motive of why he would kill so many people.
And God willing, they continue to keep the task force together.

See if they could attach it to any other bodies that might have been discovered in the state of New York or anywhere else.
