Never met his family, never spoke to them.

Don't know how their mind was towards their father or husband.

So it's hard for me to sit here and say that I have a feeling because I never met them in person.

Yeah, so I make sure that there is an understanding of trust and transparency when you're working with the public.

If you have a case that you need some type of cooperation, it's important that you don't wait till that incident to have that trust with your community, with your neighborhoods that you're protecting.

And I'm a big advocate of making sure you have great relationships with the communities that you're sworn to protect and serve.

And believe it or not, when you have those good relationships, people will feel comfortable to come forward if they have information on any crime that may be occurring, be it somebody being assaulted to a serial killer case.

It definitely was a gamble.

Let's make sure that that's very clear.

But based upon the information that I was debriefed on, the cell site boxes in Massapequa in the midtime I had and the belts, that was something that I was like, listen, we have to make sure we capitalize on that as well.

And a few other things that I thought that, you know, this case definitely

had some meat on the bone to being solved.

Now, even with that being said, being a former detective in NYPD, a sergeant of detectives in NYPD, former chief of detectives in NYPD, and you can have all the evidence in the world, sometimes cases are still not solved.

So was it a gamble?

Yes, it was.

Was it risky to say that?

No doubt about it.

But I was very happy with the team effort, the teamwork, the partnerships, compliments to all the leaders and law enforcement out there for coming together and getting the job done.

There was one incident with Shannon Gilbert that went missing in 2010, during the summer of 2010.

I think it was either June or July of 2010, where she was somebody who was engaged in sex work and ended up disappearing, which we eventually believed that
